So in all fairness to Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat, I live in the northern reaches of Alberta (Sherwood Park) and as a result, that part of the map is beginning to fill up. But let me tell you about my surprise in the early success of this site.
Last week, a few of you expressed interest in what I was building. And indeed, this has spent four years inside my head, only finally coming out now. But for four years, I have slowly worked on this, adding pieces until it has evolved into what it is today. And as of March 29, the day when I first offered it to a few individuals, it already feels like it has taken on a life of its own.
For example, my next five days are fully booked with meetings with those that are curious about what exactly this site is all about. Already today, two of you have called and purchased space (thanks Suzanne Schulz photography, whose site will soon be up and Zyp creative, spearheaded by the very creatively named Robina Zyp).
So now to the surprise. The first 15 slots we have available to individuals, groups, and businesses are almost full. In fact, we have 6 left at $100. Then the price will head north at $200 (or $2/pixel). This is just our way of thanking those first few businesses in trusting in us to bring them more numbers online! I’m surprised at the immediate response, even frightened by it a bit. So here’s a ridiculous goal that I’ll just put out there, just to make this fun. If we end up with 25 individuals deciding to invest in spots on this site, I will do something very Albertan (sorry, not wearing a cowboy hat just yet, that’s something I’ve never done and hopefully will never have to do). I’m open to suggestions and responses, just keep them reasonable (and fun)!
